I have been so inspired lately by the likes of a young fiery unorthodox QB named Tim Tebow! While I could definitely boast in his desire to WIN games by any means necessary, I am more inclined to boast in his absolute unfailing love for the Lord and his continuous public display of just how much he lives for the glory of God. I am instantly reminded of Jesus speaking in Matt. 10:32 where He explicitly
states that He will confess those before His Father those who confess Him before men, then goes on to say in Matt. 10:33 that he will deny those who deny Him.While Tebow will be hated on for his lack of being the Elway’s or prototypical QB’s of our NFL, he will always be known, like David, as a man after the heart of God. To Tebow’s reward, the latter will benefit him onward into eternity. The Denver locker room is his harvest field. The evidence of this are the other players who are publicly stating that all glory goes to the Father for their success. They may not know what that means, they might, but the fact remains that lives are being changed as a result of Tim’s being obedient to allow the Lord to use him in this way.
The Denver Broncos have a warrior at the helm. A warrior whose life is surrendered to the Almighty God of the Bible. A warrior who, while everyone celebrates a touchdown, he’s in the end-zone on bended knee praying to His Savior. A warrior who is living and proclaiming the Gospel. And at the end of the day, it’s not going to matter what his stats were, or if they went to the Dance and brought home the championship ring. He has a forming legacy of living for Jesus Christ, and using the platform given to him to proclaim the surpassing greatness of God.
While I personally would love God’s favor to be shown over the currently #2 in their division Broncos, I am more excited to see lives of the men in the locker room, NFL, and fans alike be transformed by the faithful and unrelenting work of a young QB who is introducing the masses to their Creator & Lord. He’s a winner in God’s eyes, apart from a ring. He’s a farmer, who plant seeds, that just happens to play football in the NFL.
God Bless You Tim Tebow!
